Create connections where people live.
■Sociology major
We aim to foster a ""sociological imagination"" that understands various problems that occur in our daily lives in connection with the entire society. We study politics, economy, education, labor etc. and challenge the conception and design of ""the connection between new people and people"" for problem solving. In particular, through learning “Sociology of Education” and “Sociology of Media,” we will improve communication and create a leader in social creation that can expand and realize the circle of people participating in their own initiatives.
■Community Studies Major
We stand in the field where people connect and support each other, and value the learning we experience, examine, think and practice. The target of learning is not limited to ""communities"" such as areas and families, but also to various spreads such as ""friendships"" and ""people connected via the Internet"". We study ""sociology"" that focuses on groups and ""psychology"" that focuses on individuals in a well-balanced manner, and fosters the ability to scientifically grasp and solve issues that the community has. Furthermore, we will acquire practical ability that can cope with any course such as information collection, analysis ability, planning ability and presentation ability by social investigation practice corresponding to qualification acquisition of ""social researcher"".
■Social Welfare Major
In order to protect life and enrich livelihood and life, we will analyze the welfare issues and cultivate the power to present methods and practices towards solutions while incorporating methods such as sociology, psychology and cultural anthropology . We emphasize practical training and exercises by a small number of people, cultivate teamwork skills that are essential for the execution of welfare work, and train active people to practice for problem solving. In addition, we aim for qualification acquisition of national qualification ""social worker"".
In 2017, the social worker pass rate was 59.4% ※ (national average 30.2%). In the past five years, 60 people have passed the National Examination for Social Workers. ※ 19 passers
■International Culture Major
From the perspective of cultural anthropology, we will consider new connections created by cross-cultural exchange and multi-cultural coexistence. In the “overseas short-term training (overseas field work)” in which all participants participate in the second year, they learn English and experience different cultures. In addition, we will learn the technique of ""Ethnography"" to transmit the cultural information that we surveyed and recorded to the society, and acquire advanced communication skills in the real world. By systematically studying museology in response to the national qualification ""museum curator"" course, we will broadly and deeply understand the lives of people who are ahead from specific things, and also their connections.
